India has the best demographic profile in terms of the youth population. Our current population estimate is 125 crores. About 50 per cent of it is below 25 years of age and more than 65 per cent of it is below the age of 35. In absolute numbers, this would be about 63 crores of those under 25!

With this as a backdrop, the cover story of this month’ issue has been filed. It is about Generation Z, or the youth under 25, who was born in 1995. They have strong views on what they ‘do not want’ – be it on the beauty table or in a salon or spa. They are also known to be averse to taking risks and adopt products and treatments for life.
